About the speaker
Originally from France, Laurent Sylvestre joined Beca in 2009 in a General Manager HR role where he first established a ‘people review’ process to identify and nurture top talent. He became General Manager People & Culture for the New Zealand business in 2013 and spent the next 3 years leading the transformation of Beca’s NZ HR team into People & Culture as strategic business partners. He also implemented tools for leaders to develop their self-awareness and their capability to create a culture where all our people are able to be their best. In 2016 he was appointed Chief P&C Officer and joined Beca’s Executive Leadership Team. Laurent leads the P&C function across all Beca locations. He is also a Board Director on the Beca New Zealand and Beca New Caledonia Boards. Laurent Sylvestre is passionate about helping people and organisations to maximise their purpose by notably understanding their beliefs, behaviours and what individuals and organisations want to become. He believes that authenticity, vulnerability and courage are the cornerstone of outstanding leadership. Laurent enjoys designing, leading and implementing innovative initiatives and frameworks that continue to transform Beca into a talent-led organisation
